You'll Taste the Difference

When sourcing materials in the development of Muscle Calm in 2017, Sarah MacDonald tried just about every brand of CBD available & the results were underwhelming to say the least. On a whim, she contacted her cousin, Tylene Loomer, a plant based, whole foods nutrition expert & researcher, to see if she had any insight into effective, clean CBD. During that fateful conversation, Tylene shared with Sarah that she & her husband Sean were in the final stages of assisting in the development of a proprietary extraction technology which keeps intact and raw the entire flower, providing a complete plant medicine.

After the conversation with Tylene, Sarah was excited to try this new CBD product and, once it arrived & she had the opportunity to use it, every other CBD isolate product she had previously purchased went straight into the trash. Why? Because without exception, this Whole Flower product works far better than any others she tried.

There are several reasons why this Whole Flower CBD is so much more effective, and you can feel free to contact Sarah to learn more. One of the main reasons is that THE STALKS AND LEAVES ARE NOT USED as the material from which to extract CBD. Only the flower of the cannabis/hemp plant is used, and nothing besides plant matter is removed from the product, so you are receiving nature’s complete medicine – in a raw and complete form!

Why Does Whole Flower Water Soluble CBD Get Better Results?

With the proliferation of CBD isolate products, the difference between CBD-only products versus products made from whole flower CBD is important information for every consumer primarily concerned with medicinal benefits to understand. For example, “pure” CBD as being marketed by merchants who sell CBD isolate is not the most desirable type of supplement for medicinal value. As a metaphor, would it be healthier to eat an orange or to chemically extract the vitamin C from an orange and consume it on its own, with none of the other healing properties available in the orange?

The Entourage Effect

One of the most interesting things we learned when investigating the benefits of whole flower CBD compared to the other CBD products available, is something called The Entourage Effect. Top research scientists as well as patients are discovering that whole flower cannabis products are providing better results than products made with isolated THC and/or CBD. They’ve even given a clever name to what they’ve discovered – The Entourage Effect.

The Entourage Effect refers to the more than 480 natural components of cannabis all working together to provide increased results and greater ease of symptoms than isolated cannabis compounds.

This term was coined by the same person who first isolated the CBD (and THC) compounds and discovered and named the Endocannabinoid System.

Whole Flower CBD is Functional Medicine

A 2015 study done in Israel which compared whole flower CBD to isolated CBD found that whole plant CBD-rich cannabis “is superior over [synthetic] CBD for the treatment of inflammatory conditions.”

A review of past research into the anti-inflammatory effects of CBD had revealed to the scientists that administration of pure, or isolated, CBD in these pre-clinical studies resulted in a bell-shaped dose-response curve, meaning that CBD stopped having any therapeutic effect beyond a certain amount. (This is one of the reasons it can be difficult to figure out what dosage of CBD is best for each individual). The researchers wondered whether a whole plant CBD extract would respond any differently. They discovered that unlike the bell-shaped dose-response curve of isolated CBD, the anti-inflammatory, anti-pain response of whole plant CBD increased with dose, making whole plant CBD ideal for clinical use.

“It is likely that other components in the extract synergize with CBD to achieve the desired anti-inflammatory action that may contribute to overcoming the bell-shaped dose-response of purified CBD.”

Whole Flower CBD Extraction Process

The extraction process of whole flower CBD is significantly different than the way other extraction methods are done. Rather than isolate the many components of the plant in order to extract the ones desired for use in making tinctures or other products, whole flower extraction is designed to keep all of the plant components together and intact. This allows for a much gentler handling of the plant from harvest to final product.

What Are Whole Flower CBD Products Like?

You may find you immediately notice the difference in appearance and effect of the whole flower product. The fluid is not oil-based, it’s water-based which makes it completely soluble in water. The fluid is not clear, you may notice plant material and color variations in the product – this is all part of it being a whole flower product.

Our unique line of products provide all the benefits of the more than 480 natural components of cannabis. As you can imagine, the starting material is one of the most important factors in the efficacy of the CBD product you choose. You can feel comfortable knowing that we provide 100% pesticide-free, whole flower CBD extracted using a patent-pending, solventless process.
